Vamp It Up: What to do when you Awaken

Covens Spell Casters  ► Articles  ► Vamp It Up: What to do when you Awaken
When you awaken to the fledgling stage of the vampire life cycle, it is not all it has cracked up to be. If you have awakened, you are now aware of the pain and suffering that comes along with the process. This article should aid you in better controlling your weaknesses.

The first sign you will notice, I am sure, is the horrible headaches you get when the sunlight is near. You won't burn, so relax a little. I know it hurts, so here are some way you can limit (not eliminate- that is impossible) the pain.

Start by wearing sunglasses when you leave home. This will help your light sensitivity. Cover your head with something that blocks your face from the sun. If you are female, like me, I have found that a big floppy beach hat works wonderfully in the summer. I am not sexist by any means, if you men want to try it out, go for it.

If you are a witch and would like to charm a piece of jewelry to protect you from the sun, here is a short ritual to do so: Select a dish or glass that can hold water. If you are Pagan, your chalice would be a wonderful tool for this. Fill your container of choice with warm water. Add a bit of basil to the water and stir it gently with your finger. Don't lick your finger, some herbs may be toxic and many are allergic to quite a few of them. Place your jewelry piece into the water and hold the glass in both of your hands. Imagine the light of the moon coursing through you. It enters you, travels through your torso, down your arms, into your fingers, and finally releases itself into the glass. While you do so think about how it is your will to protect yourself from the sun.

Now say these words:

"Mother of Night, moon so bright, protect me from the morning light."

Repeat these words 3 times or until you feel peace.

Wear the charmed jewelry all the time. Take it off on the nights of the full and new moons and place it under the moonlight in a safe spot. This will give it extra power to protect you. You won't need to repeat the ritual, but the energy will wear out if you do not charge it.

The next thing you will notice is your hunger. You will be extraordinarily hungry and nothing you eat will satisfy your hunger. Once a day, at the very least, it is a good idea to drink a blood substitute. If you are a Sang vampire like me (meaning you need blood and not just psychic feeding), you will do best with real blood. Until you can acquire it, I will tell you how to make a substitute.

The substitute also works for psychic vampires (meaning those who feed on life energy), though once they learn to feed they may not need it. For those of you who want real blood bear in mind: There is a real vampire code. And real vampire slayers do not like it when you break the real vampire code. If you look in my profile, I have a copy of the New Code in my History section. Be sure to read it through.

This may seem a bit bizarre, but it came to me in a dream and it worked. To make a blood substitute, find a liquid beverage and sing this chant 3 times:

"Soft flowers glow. Let your powers shine. Make the clock reverse. Bring back which once was mine."

Be sure to use these words and not the ones from the movie. They do not work the same. As you say this chant, close your eyes and hold your cup with both hands. Envision the energy of your willpower flowing from your brain, down through your arm, into the cup, and up your other arm. Picture this in a loop. I have found the best tasting substitutes are made from apple juice and grape juice. Red Kool-Aid makes an almost flawless blood substance. Do not use Cranberry Juice. It tastes horrible. Remember you have to believe for it to work. Try a few times and you will get it.

This is all I have for this article. Check out my profile for more Vampire related Articles.

You are human, vampires are astral beings.
