A list of demons from Christian Demonology. This article is meant to educate Witches about the Spirits of the World, not to encourage demonic practices.
1. Agrat Bat Mahlat: She is the Angel of Sacred Prostitution and Female Sexuality. Originally she was meant to be one of Adam?s wives to replace Lilith but she refused to marry him when Adam proposed to all 4 of Lilith?s replacements. She was turned into a Demoness by Yahweh and became one of the 4 Queens of Hell. In Jewish Folklore Agrat Bat Mahlat seduced King David into impregnating her, resulting in her giving birth to his child: a dangerous Cambion (half demon) that threatened King David?s reign.
2. Asmodeus: The Demon Prince of Lust. He is a Cambion (half-demon) who became one of the Kings of Hell and married the Demoness Naamah who was formerly Norea (the wife of Noah). In Jewish Kabbalah, he is one of the great kings of Hell and he follows the Torah, thus he is considered to serve Yahweh and could be considered a Neutral or Good Shadem (Demon). He is known for trying to attack Tobias and his wife during their journey to the pool of Bethesda in the Book of Tobit before being defeated by the Archangel Raphael who tied him up and through Asmodeus into a pit.
3. Naamah: The Demoness of Seduction and Pleasure. Her name means ?pleasant? in Hebrew. Stories differ to her origin. One story claims that she was one of Lilith?s replacements for Adam but she refused to marry Adam because Adam wanted multiple wives, thus she was turned into a Succubus and became one of the 4 Queens of Hell. Another story claims that she was once Norea (the wife of Noah) and was turned into a Succubus after sleeping with and marrying the Cambion Asmodeus. In this story, she also becomes one of the 4 Queens of Hell. Regardless, she?s a Queen of Hell who represents Seduction and Sexual Pleasure and tries to seduce men into evil acts, although it is possible that she is an ally to Yahweh considering that her husband Asmodeus follows the Torah and serves Yahweh, meaning that both Naamah and Asmodeus could count as Neutral or Good Shadem (Demons).
