Place a white and purple candle side by side, light them, chant the spell three times, and as you do so keep your mind open. Feel your mind opening further. It may help to visualize the opening in a way that works for you.

can a lavender coloured candle work?

Yes. Although colors have their associations, at the end of the day, your own use, intentions, and interpretations are what drive forward the energy :) Besides, lavender is representative of intuition as well.
