Incomplete. While this could be used as a blessing, you did not cleanse the object. You did not charge the object. You did not set your intention. You did not repeat the chant. You cannot simply pick something up and say protect me and call it a spell. There is absolutely nothing involved which made that a spell. That is nothing. That is you holding an object and saying words with no Magick whatsoever.
