When performing baneful..

I wanted to get some insight on people's practice of baneful magic, specifically the post spell cleanse. There comes a time when I need to undertake baneful magic, some times I will wait to do all of my baneful magic in one go, like do ritual 1, ritual 2 , ritual 3 , etc. Rather then attempting to fit multiply spells over the course of a certain period of time. For my entire practice , when I do baneful magic like this, I will cleanse after each ritual, I think of it as like "doing the dishes so I can use the dish again, rather than attempting to cook a new dish using an unwashed pot that still has last nights meatloaf in it for example" Should I keep doing this or should I just go 1,2,3 and then after all the spells are performed do the cleanse? I am a firm believer of "if its not broke don't fix it" but I wanted to get some other witches insight. I feel as though baneful magic gets a bad reputation from the "non witches" of this world hence why I am unable to openly practice so I need to go to online locations/places such as these.

Thank you for your time

I suppose it depends on a few things.

On one hand, you might want to cleanse after every spell so that the energy from the previous spell doesn't cause issues with the next, assuming it would. Cleansing is also a good closing aspect of a ritual unless you want that energy to stay around for a time.

On the other, if it's just leftover energy that's floating around without purpose, you could probably recycle it to use in the next spell. I don't know that I would want so much baneful energy floating around though unless I knew how to keep it all in check.

For example, say I'm doing hexes on X number of people, do I cleanse after each spell on each person, or what I've been doing is sometimes I'll cleanse after each spell, or if its a similar type of hex then I'll do Spell 1 , Spell 2 , Spell 3 , etc until I'm done, done. Then I'll do a large cleanse, it depends on how I feel almost intuitively. Just asking for insight not here to "stir the cauldron" / joke

Please cease the use of the word hex to describe baneful, harmful, or negative magic. The term hex comes from the german word hexen, which means to make magic. There are many hexes that are for protection, health, property, and even banishment . These castings are not meant to harm or cause a negative outcome. The most famous of thees castings arethe PA Dutch Hex signs that were origionaly to protect out buildings such as barns, sheds, and even outhouses from negative energy and promote positive energy with their beautiful art. Much like a sigil a hex sign can be used in many different situations and are even incorporated into the supporting beams of buildings.

As for cleansing and baneful castings I suggest cleansing prior to and after each casting. This is a way to make sure the energy is fresh and clear as it's cast and that any negative energy left over from the a specific curse does not hang about. Often with this type of magic the energy is heavy, likes to cling, and definitely needs to be sent on it's way properly.

Many Blessing,

Katie

Interesting I thought the word Hexe was what the Germans called witches, and long story short, since a lot of people didn't like witches because it was made a negative term Hexe was what they called "Witch" so hex became a word in English to mean "baneful magic". I was aware of the word Hexen meaning to magic magic but I believed modern witches viewed the word hex in the way I described above. If I offended you or broke a rule , as you asked me to cease using this word in this manner, understand this potential infraction was not my intention. Also the consensus seems to be that I was correct in my initial theory to cleanse each time, so even though this information is not new it is satisficing to see that my own theory was correct and that I should continue doing this method.

Thank you
