A query about oils

As someone who'd studied paganism for a long time, I understand what foods/plants certain gods/goddesses like as offerings. But what about fragrance oils? For example, if I were to burn a scented candle made with bread and blackberry fragrance oils in a ritual involving Brighid, would she be offended or would she appreciate the scented candle as much as she would real bread and blackberries? I'm going to hold off on doing such rituals until I get this figured out because I don't want to accidentally offend any deities.

This sounds like something you will need to ask her(or any deity) when it comes to giving offerings. For example some people give "sprays" of perfume as an offering, of the herbs that that spirit likes. You also need to remember the point of the offering, its to give energy that they can "feed" on, I would personally imagine real bread and a handful of black berries are going to have more energy then some scented candle. I'd add more but my battery is about to die

I can understand why real blackberries and bread would have more energy. I look forward to hearing more from you once your battery's recharged.
