Hi um can you help me with something? I started to really came across all the witchy things and it's something I feel draws me to, the problem I have no idea how I start where even a little bit, can you help?
My advice is to begin with research before practicing. Read about various topics, and take them all at least with a grain of salt. Not all opinions are universal across the board, and many correspondences are more personal than set in stone. Not everything is mandatory, so don't feel like you must have this tool, that herb, or the other whatever someone says you "need" to have for your practice.
Meditation is high on my list of priorities. Mindfulness can be so very beneficial for so much related to magic, and for life in general.
All of that said, try poking around in the General Info section. There are some very useful pinned threads.
My advice is not to worry too much about labeling yourself right off the bat. You will find many in the witchcraft community whom specialize in certain practices but honestly you are not limited to these practices.
I suggest starting to learn the basics of spellcasting, raising, directing, and grounding energy, and whichever topics of magical practice which interest you.
Like prsona said, tools are not a requirement at all. My mother has had successful things come about magically all the while never lighting a candle or using a tool of any kind.
And as always do not hesitate to ask questions here. We are here to help.
The best advice I can give you is to read plenty of fulfilling information books, research on what your type of magic is, your doctrine, religion, etcetera. Don't start praticing just yet or you'll find yourself trapped. Learn first, and then, pratice. Keep an open minded as you may wish to pratice another doctrine a few years later due to change of beliefs, so read interesting books on other systems aswell.
Research, but narrow it down. What interests you most? Research "the basics" like terms. If you can find one reliable beginner book, I would read that cover to cover before branching out. There's also plenty of free information on this site, as well as Youtube and other sites. HearthWitch has a channel where she teaches. [I'll link her beginner's playlist below]
My advice is to If Witchcraft is what you want for your life, the best thing you can do now is read books on Witchcraft, Paganism, and the Occult etc. Before Practicing.
So go out and experiment Go camping. Take hikes in the mountains. Swim in the lake. Absorb the energy of the Sun and the Moon. Watch birds. This is all part of the first steps towards becoming a real-life
Witch. Becoming a Witch male or female is not just about casting spells and working with Magic, it is also about building awareness, finding your own Power In the process, you also become more confident, more focused, and you learn to find inspiration and see the bigger picture in every situation. In the end, you will be developing your intuition as a way to wisdom and connection with the spiritual world.
Best of Luck
