Is LD AP?

I had to shorten the title because of the character limit (full title is “Is Licid Dreaming Astral Projection?”) I recently got into Lucid Dreaming, something I highly enjoy, and I would like to know if it is the same thing as Astral Projection since the characteristics between the two are quite similar.

It is not the same. Lucid dreaming takes place in your body (it's sleeping), really, whereas astral projection is an out of body experience where in almost every case you are conscious. Also, in lucid dreaming you have total control but in AP you only have control of yourself because you're interacting with other beings. Astral projection also comes with a lot more dangers than lucid dreaming because of this interaction and the fact that the astral plain functions somewhat differently than our. I'd recommend doing a lot of in depth research about both before attempting to move on to astral projection. On the bright side, it may be somewhat easier for you as many people start learning to astral project by first learning to lucid dream.
