Empathy and psychopaths

This may sound weird

can empaths be psychopaths? Like Im an empath that feels others emotions deeply but sometimes I really dont care. No matter if I feel their emotions or not.

Not caring doesn't make you a psychopath. Psychopaths are people with mental health disorders that often cause violent tendencies. You simply don't worry about other people's feelings, it doesn't make you a bad person.

I dont think Im a psychopath at all. I care about people but not all. I dont have violent tendencies.

Psychopaths, by the very nature of their mental condition, are totally incapable of feeling or understanding the emotions of others. That lack is pretty much what defines a psychopath. So the answer is, no. A psychopath is incapable of being an empath.

Thank you, Lark. I deleted my misinformation. I hadn't realized that being a psychopath itself was themental disorder. I assumed it meant someone who is violent because of mental health disorders. I have schizophrenia and I know feelings and emotions just fine. I apologize.
