Mythology

Hey guys, I've been researching and I've been trying to find the original translation for mythology stories.

Does anybody have any references or websites where I can find these texts?

I heard they were pretty screwed up, so like...it doesn't matter

Are you asking for mythology from a specific region (ie, Celtic or Greek), or just mythology in general?

Internet Sacred Texts Archive (sacred-texts.com) has a legends/sagas section with folktales and stories from multiple regions, as well as information on many mythological and religious subjects.

Also, googling skills help quite a lot. Learning what terminology to use goes a long way. For example, if you want the original folklore on the Fair Folk, googling "fairies" probably won't yield a lot of results.

Doing general research on a region and its belief system/mythology can help too. Using the above example, if you already had an idea of the original Fair Folk and you stumbled upon a story claiming to be from old Celtic folklore, but the story was about a cute little fairy with butterfly wings and a wand that shot glitter, you could pretty easily conclude that it wasn't actually an old folktale.
