Making a Book of Shadows.

Hi Guys,

I am having trouble with my book of shadows.

I have tried looseleaf paper in a binder, a lined book, typing and printing, etc, etc.

I just can't seem to find the right medium for my BOS.

I think I may try the binder thing again, but I dunno.

I was wondering, what mediums do you guys use? Where is a good, reliable place to start gathering information,

Do you prefer to have a table of contents? Glossary? Index? Etc.

What are your tips or advice for beginners wanting to learn more and make their own BOS?

Blessed Be~

I don't know what the more experienced ones use, but mostly I just use what "calls" to me. Right now I use a couple of 5 subject spiral notebooks with the idea that when I find what appeals to my mind later I can move my paper from one to another. It should be what you need it to be, need it to look like, what represents you. I keep all my notes, anything that I have written down. When I fill up one I start another and combine and put them in order as I need it. That's just what I do.
God bless

Over the years I have used many things and I still do. I have sketch pads that I cut in half and taped together, binders, small lined journals, big lined journals, notebooks, note pads, computer documents, and pdfs. Use what you want, try new things. Make it yours and don't judge your book by someone else's

Honestly? I don't have one, or at least not the standard ''official BoS''. I have notebooks filled with scrap pieces of paper, notes scribbled everywhere, etc. When Ifeel its time to organize it, I will. Until then, it is what it is. Don't rush it, because there are plenty and more than enough notes you will be taking during your journey. When the time is right for you to begin cataloging your book, you will know.

I am using a binder for now. I want to find a really nice looking journal type book to transfer stuff into later on. I just haven't found one that speaks to me yet. I feel as though when I find it I will know. Perhaps the same goes for your situation.

My favorite thing to use is large recipe cards and a recipe box. The cards can be reorganized at will. I have even printed out information and just taped it to the cards.

You can also make yours. Design the cover that you see in your mind. Make it and remake until it looks like you want it. There's no hurry. I also make notes and take pictures and tape them into my folder. Everytime I plan out how I want to do something,it always ends up different.lol
