Spirits

Hello everyone.

I have always been sensitive to certain things. I'm not sure how to explain it, but I wish to know what spells will allow me to either see or communicate with spirits. I'm not that experience in magic, only in tarot reading. Where do I start?

Spells may not be your best direction here. At the very least, if you do cast a successful spell, it will not simply make you more able to communicate with spirits. It might, however, help with your pursuit.

Your better option is to practice what you desire. Learning to tap into the part of your mind which may best interact will do wonders, and can only be done by repeatedly attempting to do so. One name for it is exercising (I dislike the term 'opening,' as it is already open; most people are just not aware of how to use it, or what to expect) the third eye. I repeat, to eliminate the parenthetical: Exercise the Third Eye.

This is more about perception than physical sensations. While some people may have success using the guided meditations which focus on a spot on their foreheads, I believe that focuses too much on the physical. Rather, energy exercises are more likely to be productive.

More beneficial practices would be learning to ward, protect, and banish. Being able to send away an entity which you do not want in your vicinity is very important.

So how do you get started with this? Daily meditation. It teaches you to concentrate. Basically, whatever type of meditation you choose strengthens your ability to do that. People who meditate on a candle for a while every day for thirty days are much more able to focus on a single thought, object, or task for longer periods of time, for example. In the beginning, I'd suggest focusing on your breath. Have no expectations, and when you find yourself going along some mental rabbit trail, bring yourself to center, and observe your breath. Explore the concept of mindfulness: Existing in the moment, without judgment. Thoughts may come or go, but there is only now. Eventually, start branching out.

I would also recommend, at least after having established a regular meditation practice, both of banishing, and of circulating energy within yourself. Again, choose something simple.

As for banishing, there are more elaborate rituals which you may find, and there are simple methods such as a 'burst' of light in your vicinity, emanating from yourself, sourced either from yourself or from the earth, heaven, the universe, any god(s) you may follow, or the like.

Circulating energy, again, has so many options. Some take the Western approach, with the Circulation of the Body of Light, while others may move energy up and down their chakras, circle their arms and run the energy back and forth, and more. But I would recommend a more 'spinal' path, up and down from the base of your spine to the top of your head, reverse, slowly, or in a circle or oval.

Eventually, this begins an awareness of the 'spiritual' side of things. You will start finding your own aptitudes in how you perceive spirits, and will know better which direction(s) to further your practices to improve your abilities.

Also, don't forget that spirits have personhood, at least to an extent. That is, they're not objects for looking at, or to be used for novelty purposes. Respect them, and have conversations with those you believe you can trust.

Moulanarafi, it is better to start a new thread than to attempt to change the subject in a completely unrelated conversation.
