eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill, an it harm none do what ye will
it's pretty much one of only two things Wiccans try to stick to, but it's not really a 'rule' per sey. it's up to personal interpretation. what do you define 'harmful'? gossip? eating meat? drinking alcohol? fast food? too much exercise? negative thoughts? all Wiccans believe in the Rede, but the extent varies. don't know if the argument is still going on but i remember a few years ago there was a 'not a real witch' fight. you weren't a 'real witch' if you weren't vegetarian, then some claimed it was vegan. it's really up to the witch to research and make their own choices. when i began [as most do] i concluded you couldn't cast curses, as i've grown, i've discovered many grey areas people don't talk about. the above examples of meat is murder, but also last year many cursed rapist, bound politicians from doing harm, and so on. they took away another free will, but their free will wanted to do harm. is that against the Rede? these are questions you need to ask yourself and write your own code/laws to live by under the Rede.
