If you look to the left you will see a stereotypical witch.

I have pale skin, dark hair, a black cat (3 more of different colors that follow me around), a cauldron (ok I have 3), a broom (alright I have 4), a mortal and pestal (yeah, you got me, I have 5), a cloak (I make them so right now in my possession I have about 7), a pointy hat (alright already I have 3), a wand (ok I have 2), a few grotesque items (of course this depends on what you feel is grotesque), and a cackle that shatters glass. Also a friend of the devil is a friend of mine.

Nice list of stereotypes. But I do own a wand, pointy hat and I honestly wish I had a black cat.

I think you forgot this one

That witches at night fly to a sabbat and dance nakid around a bonfire and that we talk to cats and they due our bidding.

And that we sneak into people houses and preform "black masses" in people bedroom while they sleep.

They used to burn basically anyone of a lower class with red hair because they found it more rare, and uncommon. And, as you probably know they tended burned anyone they labeled to look "weird". The majority of the population had brown hair, back then, and now, so they usually didn't stereotype people with brown hair as "witches" It was usaully the people with red hair, green eyes, freckles and fair skin that got the blame. My late grandma who had the reddest hair, the fairest skin, and slight freckles, used to get called a witch solely based on the color of her hair. Well, that was until someone sitting behind her dipped her hair in an ink well, she then wished he would die, and the day afterwards he got struck by lightning. Then they had more reason to call her a witch, perhaps. You'll notice today even that there tends to be some ill blood towards red heads, for instance "Kick A Ginger day", the facebook holiday that sent a bunch of kids home from school from being kicked, this hostility is still because of the past predjudices against redheads. It seems that they'll always be called witches, although that's not an offensive term, unless you're ignorant to it's meaning. :)
