Finding your element

I know a lot of people prefer to find their element(s) through either personal connections (which I think is best) or sun sign elemental affinities, but here is something else to try, if you like astrology and want to stick to the classical elements.

Create a natal chart. There's plenty of places online you can do this at for free, I use www.astro.com myself. Usually all you need to do is select the chart type and input your birthday and where you were born. (Note: Sign placements and therefore elemental affinities differ depending on astrological system used as well as whether or not a birth time is provided. It will be the most accurate if you know your birth time.)

Look at the elemental placements on the chart. Most websites will put them in a separate grid or color code them for you. See if any elements are strong, or if there is a balance. Some people may also be drawn to their weakest element in order to strengthen the whole, so don't feel bad if you have a connection to fire but earth is strongest in your chart.
