Books on how to start?

I've been trying to find as much information on this site as I can, but I'm still trying to learn more. Are there any books that you guys would personally recommend on reading to learn as much as I can? I don't know specifically what kind of path I want to go down. But I want to learn as much as I can, and know that the information from said book will most likely be legitimate.

At home, I have "the Complete Idiots Guide to Wicca and Witchcraft", by Denise Zimmerman and Kathrine A. Gleason.
I hope this helps :)

I will always recommend Scott Cunningham's "A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner." He has a very good outlook on things, and an excellent tone to teach. He also outlines that no method is the "right way," and that is excellent. No religion is one size fits all.

I also highly recommend visitinghttp://www.witchvox.com/xgroups.html and looking for a coven in your area. There is no need to join one, but covens are often excited to help new practitioners find their paths and get a foot hold.

Thanks so much Picklessi and Dravona!! I'll check out both of the books, and the coven idea sounds really interesting! :)

That depends entirely on what it is that you want to learn. If you wish to learn about the religion of Wicca then the two books mentioned are OK; although, there are better books on that topic.

However, if it is simply magic and spellwork that interests you right now, then I would suggest these:

"Modern Magick" by Donald Michael Kraig

"Spells and How They Work" by Janet and Stewart Farrar

"The Veil's Edge" by Willow Polson

If you could be a bit more specirfic as to where your interests lie I can certainly make some other suggestions.

I have heard That the wiccapedia is a good source if you are a beginner.. Scott Cunningham has quite a selection of books online and in stores like Barnes and nobles but I have found quite a selection of books on amazon by other authors. Some are anonymous
