No it is not. Unless you are working specifically with a form of blood magic, there is no reason to be drawing blood.

no, blood work is said to be a powerful form of magick that can enhance the energy and personalize the spell, but it isn't a mandatory step in spellcasting [i've never worked with blood and my spells work just fine]
