Of Fetches and Familiars

The description you gave of this spirit in your other thread would indicate that it is not a familiar and that it may be attached to your apartment rather than you. It sounds more like just a pesky spirit. If you wish to communicate with it, do as you will, but otherwise it should be banished rather than let be to mess with your apartment.

This is great information! I have actually never heard of a Fetch before this post. I've heard of Familiars, but since my only knowledge on them was from movies and shows and such, I thought they could/were physical beings.

On the idea that a past pet could come back and be your familiar, does this include a family pet? Or did it have to be your own. Not only that but I also was wondering on what you thought about when it came to me hearing a scratch at the back door or a whine when no animal was there.
