From what I have learned, magick is not a weapon, it is an aid and a subtle one at that.

Of course anyone can believe anything they choose, but no one should be expecting to make a sword out of fire or push people away with a magickal forcefield, because that is simply not what magick does.

The closest I can think of to fighting with magick would be a curse.

Magick certainly doesn't work the same way as it does in fantasy TV shows or magical girl anime.

Uh, no, magick isn't like Harry Potter or you just say some words and a flaming sword appears. [Cool as it may be real magick is nothing like the movies] some may argue on the astral you can, but physically no, magick is an invisible energy we can use to bring a desired change into our lives.

Magick is not a weapon per se, but it can be used for harm and malicious intent. Magick in general is the manipulation of energy and can be put to multiple uses such as healing, harming, protection, divination, and other various things, but it is not a physical weapon. It is more a force powered by the will and intent of the user which can be either put to use for helpful or harming reasons.

I once had a dream I was using some wands I own/have owned to fight against my sister, and I won. The dream also included her trying to corrupt me and my younger brother, and some kind of weird magical texts/books.

I think it was just a dream. I'm not sure how useful a wand really is? I'm interested in the woods ebony, lignum vitae and purpleheart based on what I've read, and I own wands in these woods, but I have no clue how to use them. :(

But yeah, I'm big into this kind of thing in a fantasy setting. Love D&D RPG videogames where you can pretend to fight with these weapons. Also love Harry Potter.

Also, I've made this point already on these boards, but a flaming sword IS possible. Just put some fuel on the blade, insulate the handle well, and set fire to it. They literally used to do this in Crusades times, as well as ice swords (seal the sword against water in a container and leave it in a cold pond), lightning swords (magnetize the steel of the blade), and poison swords (apply poison to the blade).

CloudSeth, may I ask what your source is for your claims that such weapons were used during the Crusades.
