Religious Paraphernalia

What do you all think or know about religious symbols while at work? Do they care? Is it inappropriate? I notice some people who wear crosses and things but I feel like pentacles or thor's hammers or Ohm necklaces, etc are more easily stigmatized and deemed "unprofessional".

Like not flashy necklaces, just say if somebody likes to wear it as protection or to pray with, remind themselves of Jesus when they are frustrated with work, what ever it may be?

Most people I see wearing religious necklaces and the like are either of a mainstream religion or don't know what they're wearing. I actually had a customer at Walmart when I worked there that was wearing a symbol called The Hand of Fatima and I brought it up, thinking she knew what it was; to which I was responded to with "Oh, I just got this from my brother and thought it looked cute." In another job, I brought up Norse Paganism and got the response of not even knowing what Paganism was, let alone Heathenry.

The perceived issues people have with Pentacles and Mjolnir necklaces is that they're seen as being associated with Theistic Satanism (as a Pentacle is not exclusive and Mjolnir symbolism can be mistaken for an inverse cross). Satanism in and of itself is not a problematic religion and I don't feel offended for being equated with Demonolatry other than having the frustration of being mistaken by unfounded assumptions.

I don't think I've seen backlash for an Ohm necklace because it's often associated with hippies in mainstream eyes by those who don't know anything further about it. Usually if you straight up tell someone what something is, they either don't care, don't know about it, or wouldn't give you flack for it.

I even have a Mjolnir necklace that I've since stopped wearing for two reasons. One, I don't worship Thor and don't really feel the symbol for one deity should cover the entire religion, and two, I've since begun my journey with Jormungandr and feel that would be disrespectful (though I honestly don't think/know if he cares about that or not).

I agree, I don't think people really care too much.
