While I never did learn it, I received a source from Zebrah at the time. I believe this is the book:

Welcome dude, but I think Chleo might have some better input on this. You practice palmistry, right Chleo? :P

Palmistry is super intriguing! I've never felt the need to learn it though. Thanks for the source as well by the way!

If you can afford to buy the book 'The Tarot Oracle' by Alice Ekrek is a really good book and covers Palmistry.

I find Pinterest to be an interesting gathering of sources. I've utilized it for information on Vikings, inspiration for guided imagery, and for goofing off (Cole definitely belongs in Hufflepuff).

As for Palmistry research, I do not have any offhand. However, I can offer the advice of checking the sources, making sure as best you can that they are valid, cross referencing with other valid material, and building your own understanding of the matter by way of experience, thoughts on the matter, and outside perspectives. It may be daunting to begin research from scratch, but it all mellows out as it becomes second nature to you (and you may eventually find that you feel you don't know much on a topic until someone asks you about it and are surprised at how much you can help because you think you only know basic aspects. It happens a lot around here, to be honest).

I never did get into it myself, but it has relations to phrenology as well as Alchemy as it utilizes some of the same symbolism. Perhaps, as with Alchemy, you could forge your own understanding and develop new ways to read palms; I read veins, but that is more reading the subtle energy of the blood than recognizing how different patterns and key points interact with one another.
