Why is 666 such a bad#

Okay so I was a satanist so I know 666 is the divals "number" but even people who are not in any relegion fear it.Not only that every one thinks people write/say 666 is a "dival wirshiper"
How dose one number couse this chaso?

What it means is "when man tries to be like god" or "man being god."

Hebrew letters are also numbers. This is called gamatria. When the letters for Nero Caesar are converted to numbers using the hebrew alphabet you end up with 666.

Which according to the Apostle John was a code to talk about Christian persecution during Nero's time. Nero made himself out to be a living God...so in an abstract sense it refers to man being God.

Now since Revelations is such an ambiguous book, a lot of people dont realize that though there may be prophecy within that book...it was most definitely about his own times. So over time the number of the beast has taken on all kinds of implications. But scholars even back 400-500 AD recognized that John was talking about his own times.

That is an interesting question. The original refernece to the number 666 being the "mark of the Beast" comes from the Revelation of John. It use to be commonly believed that this was John the Apostile, but it is now believed to have been written by John of Patmos in the First Century CE. It is not clear as to whether or not John actually met Jesus, or if he was a member of one of the early churches. This is the source of the connection of the number 666 to evil.

Numerically, 666 is the numeric value of "Ommo Satan", the "Evil triad of Satan- Typhon, Apophras and Besz", which is the evil triad in some early Christian and Gnostic literature. This is probably where John of Patmos got his inspiration. It is also the numeric value of Nashimiron, the Qlippoth (or demonic entity) of Pisces. However, it is also the number of Sorath, the spirit of Sun. It is also the number of the phrase "Shem Yeheshuah" which means "The name Jesus". According to Qabalistic theory, words that have the same numerical value have a relationship to one another.

So basically giving a number a bad name

The greek phrase for "The Great Beast" enumerates to 666, as Gaggs pointed out the Hebrew phrase referring to Jesus enumerate to this. It depends on whether you have a literal interpretation or a metaphysical interpretation.

In my system the Beast is not a negative archetype at all. What people seem to forget is that 666 is not the number of Satan, it is the number of the beast. Devil worshippers who use 666 are simply not the brightest people.

I don`t know actual reason why but I read somewhere that a reason why 666 is considered "evil" is because that is a number of angels that sided whit Lucifer during his rebellion.

What I read earlier is that the bible states that 666 is the number of the beast in relation to a church called Babylon and that there is a "mark" of the devil but not a number. The bible holds the number in such bad regard in relation to over throwing Christianity with Babylonian gods (36 of them that add up to 666 or something like that lol).

But I dont see why people frear that number its only 333+333=666 right? Right like my 7th grade math teacher befor I went to highschool used -333+333 and everyone was freaking out coused with out the - sign it would = 666

Sorry I meant the catholic church - and superstition I would imagine like many things lol.

There's not a bad meaning to the number, people only think it is based on numerology. It has something to do with the number 9 being the number of affinity. Since 6 is 9 upside down people think it's bad, but only if there are 3 of them because of how numbers are added in numerology like this 6+6+6=18 & 1+8=9 (the number of affinity).
