Tarot: Minor Arcana?

Hello, I got a deck of tarot gifted to me a while back. Through study and reading I have gotten a pretty good grasp on the meanings of the Major Arcana. My problem lies within the Minor Arcana, its hard for me to remember what they mean. Every time I pull out a card from the minor arcana my mind draws a blank and I end up back at my tarot book (which isn't entirely bad). Does anybody know of a way to help me memorize the cards and what they mean faster and better? Or should I just keep studying my book as much as I can?

Try to connect the to elements, or suits from a normal deck of cards. For example coins/ pentacles to earth or diamonds which represents material gain. But try not to rely to much on the book, because any one can pick up a deck and read a book. But not everyone is as attuned to the truth as others, so try what you feel.

Thank you very much, and also I try not to go to my book as much. I will try this the next time I use my cards.

If you can remember the meaning of the numbers and court cards, then you can apply them to the areas each suit refers to. While it seems simplistic, it's actually a good tool for beginners to use until they can get a good feel for the cards. If you want to delve into the more complex meanings of the Minor Arcana, then you can observe how multiple people treat each card (there are plenty of folk who do if you look for the right things).

So in the end, just keep in mind the number/court, suit, card placement, your intuition, and eventually your own understanding of the cards. Also keep in mind that not all decks work off of the same base symbolism (for example, not all decks work off of Rider-Waite symbolism).

I didn't have the book that came with my deck, so I feel your pain with trying to remember them... so this is what I did instead.

With every card, I wrote down what it meant to "me" - not what the book said! This gave me not only a personal connection to the cards, but also allowed me to memorize them a lot easier. When I got a solid grasp on what they meant to me, then I went back and learned the core meanings at my own pace and added to what I already knew. Turns out, I was really not far off most of the time.

It helps if the deck of cards you have are illustrated too, then you can go with your intuition.

I learned meanings from buying three different books on the topic
The u get a grasp,go over the cards and see what the images seem to you personally and jot them down..
In no time with practice the card meanings will be second nature
Tarot cards can have several meanings
Also look at surrounding cards too and see how they seem to connect.
