"they" say there is a curse that if you say mcbeth (the scottish play) you will be cursed. is thus true or just some plot by christians to stop people watching?

Also is the poem:
"Double double toil and trouble,
Fire burn and cauldron bubble"

of any magickal value?

the christians back in the 15th century weren't too keen on withes and magickfolk. Please note that I attribute those actions to those people and not to the religion of christianity.
You must of heard of the witch hunts and burnings?
Theyed tie you up and put you in a river, if you drowned you died a pure christian death, if you lived and the water rejected you, your burned at the stake!
Anyway this is a discussion for religious outlook on magick.
(islamic punishment for magick is execution, and if you practise magick you get thrown out the fold of Islam. I wasn't the best of muslims.)

"Anyway this is a discussion for religious outlook on magick"

I thought it was more of a question- "if you say mcbeth (the scottish play) you will be cursed. is thus true or just some plot by christians to stop people watching??

Some people believe that its true, but its really just a legend not a curse.

All of the women/men that got killed in America were innocent and did not deserve to die but yes in some countries they are killed or stonned to death for being witches which makes the people who are doing it even worse for they are not god to judge also it shows how backwards the country really is.

It is a theater superstision to not say the name Macbeth. They say that the play you are doing will not go well if the word Macbeth is spoken at any time in the theater while you are rehursing or proforming any play. It is a curse! Some have even to go so far as to not say "the scottish play" too. However I have been in the play macbeth and nothing happened but I have been in other plays were someone said it and things did go wrong. Alas it is just a surperstision, but I am very superstisous.

As for "Double double toil and trouble, Fire burn and cauldron bubble", I have used it many times in magical workings and it helped but that might be because of how and why I ues it. It works really well for midnight margaritas!
