Hello my fellow witches and wiccans, I was a Christian before but never believed what i was told about God or death and such the like, I always believed that after death we are transported to another life where we live again as a person, I also strongly believe that is what happened to me. I remember it was when i was around age five i just woke up in the body of a little girl but i could not remember anything before that day not even what had happened the day before. I just want to know what are the principles generally believed on death, thank you for your help.
Hi, it is very hard to explain - it depends on your religion and beliefs: This includes belief in resurrection (associated with Abrahamic religions), reincarnation or rebirth (associated with Dharmic religions), or that consciousness permanently ceases to exist, known as eternal oblivion (associated with atheism).
I think this thread would not get too many replies,as people here all walk different paths, following different systems and different religions.
And because of that, practioners usually hold their own respective systems in high regard and view it as the truth and thus you will most likely get a myraid of replies.
The general concepts and principles believed on the topic of physical death are usually that one either goes off into some sort of paradise or reincarnation into another physical body.
There is also the concept of the 3 generic types of bodies a physical being possesses.
-The physical body
-The subtle energy body
-The Mental Body.
and upon physical death, the physical body falls apart but you are still in possession of the other two and you continue your existence as such.
All of these concepts can sometimes be interwoven and combined by various practioners to fit their philosophy or belief system.
However, most concepts on the topic of death and the afterlife usually consists of those that i mentioned. Be it totally seperate and the practioner only chooses one to believe it or if the practioner chooses to somehow combine them.
It usually varies with the individual ans their belief system
I think, it will be different and depending on many factors.
Mostly old or eastern spiritual teachings says that it depends on the last thoughts before death. For this reason, in many cases meditations yogis, Buddhists, Taoists ........that their minds were focused in the desired direction.
Death is not a final absolute, in every school of thought/theology there is mention of a continuum after death. The spirit lives on, some spirits are trapped and unable to move due to a violent death etc, some chose to remain to stand guard over relatives but then there is that knowledge which is the unknown. Life and death are cycles, like the alpha and omega you cannot have one without the other, and yet you must have both to avoid chaos, make sense?
In my way of thinking everything about death in any relegion is both right and wrong at the same time. Many such as myself believe when you die your conscious mind is sent to the astral which i believe is a realm of the mind. Your mind can interpret what you believe in and that's what ends up happening to you.
When alive you enter the astral with your soul while your body sleeps and rests. If you can astral travel its basically the same but your aware. When you die tho the soul is reborn to someone new while your mind becomes part of the astral plane. Thats just what i think that makes sense to me.
It depends on your beliefs. If you were a follower of the the ok. You would believe in the underworld. If you were a bad person you would go to the fields of punishment. If you were a hero Elysium. If you were neither the fields of aphodel.
