Marriage!

In the past gypsies got married really young between the age of 9 and 14 depending on the female and the family to be honest it still does happen depending on the gypsies themselves, it isn't shocking to see a young gypsy girl having a baby it is still seen in Europe. They also don't/didn't get married to an outsider but now they are some what allowed. if you guys have any more questions be free to ask I am part gypsy so don't be scared I don't bite.

Yes thats right my great great grandmother was Romany Gypsy and she married at 13!!!!. Alot gets passed down through the familys and I know I have some of her gifts, which is cool lol

cool, my great-grandma married at 12 but because she was young she kept on losing her babies it wasn't until she was 16 that she had her first child.

Wow gypsies are really fascinating. Is there any specific reason that they were married the reason so young? How old were the men, were they like the same age? This is really fascinating. I am looking at this as a psychological stand point only just so we all know.

Thats all verry cool. my great great grams was said to have been a gypsie. i asked my mom about gypsy stariotypes. and she told me i was related to one. she told me shed be more comfortalbe with me being a gypsy then a "normal witch."

Sonofwater I have no clue gypsies are very old fashioned it could have been many reasons 1)The girl started her Menstruation which made her a woman so she could have kids and pass down the family customs 2)the girl is so young that age is pure(Virgin)so she would be faithful to her husband, In moderen times I've seen a girl who wasn't pure but the loved her a lot that he cut his hand to show to her patents and in-laws that she was. 3) Money, here is why the Gypsies are poor so if you want to marry the young girl you have to pay up because the family of the girl will lose money and I guess it also tells them how rich the grooms family is, the young girl is also worth money. 3)The Groom might be the same age but it really depends for example my great-grandma married an older male.
4) They want/wanted to keep in within their own people for example Son_Of_Loki(Sorry for using you) great-great-grandma was a gypsy but somewhere along the line his family forgot the gypsies ways so to the gypsy people wouldn't see him as gypsy anymore and he would be disowned, If they do marry outside of the tribe and they come back into the family then the couple will be seen as married and the children will be taught.

Son_of_loki that is very cool but you and your family has also forgotten the gypsy way for example the three names, evil eye, etc... but hey you can also learn because gypsy magic is one of the easiest most natural ones out there.
