Thanks Xinis and Sofia. You both sound very mature! And that's why I asked for adults to comment. If there are more young individuals who are just as polite and courteous , please do post.
As asked earlier, I'm interested knot magick and dream/nightmare casting and repelling. I need to be pointed in the right direction for my alter, tools, consecration rituals, circle casting, etc. I have read a lot about these and am confused about which one is ok to use. Any help would be appreciated.

excuse me not all adults know about magick there are some young folk like myself that do not believe in the fantasy spells, don't just rely on adult talk....I myself know a lot about the arts of magick....

There are lots of things you should consider before finding your path. Try to lean about the different cultures and history. There are lots of options as far as looking for a place to start.

There are some that are only interested in psychic aspects. Spell casting is another aspect to consider. There are some path that lead to enlightenment while others are based on the occult. Some paths are used for healing, others are used for getting what you mostly desire. Some are simply used to hurt and gain power.

Try to learn about some of the history. There are lots of religious teaching and there are teaching that are based against religion.

All I can say is that everyone you talk to will have a different view so try to have an open mind.

Eventually your path will come to you.

Interesting postings... I agree, there are a lot of users under the age of 18. I'm one of the "older" much over 18 crowd :).

I think if you are just starting out and wanting to get some direction on tools and alters, here is my suggestion:

Read up on types of woods, candles, colors, crystals, herbs and what they are used for magically, and make your own tools. I believe there is more power in tools that are crafted by you for your own use. I've set up my space with candles that represent each element, crafted by me. For example in western corner of my space is a blue candle with shells and hanksite crystals representing water (sea/ocean). The East is yellow surrounded by feathers representing air... and so forth. Being out in nature and collecting things that mean something to you for your alter and circle casting make it more special and powerful.

Have fun with it and always put positive intent into crafting each item. There are loads of internet sites that can guide you making them.
Good luck!

@Frannyboy and others with similar beliefs --

Unfortunately, teenagers have earned a bad rap, and rightfully so. We have a tendency towards ignorance, and we gulp down confidence as a poison rather than a remedy to our emotional and spiritual ailments.

There are few youngsters who understand what it is to be humble, wise, and willing to lend a hand. So if you are indeed seeking guidance, I would think it best to seek out those with a few extra years on their belt. It's only logical.

Thanks Mclovin! I do have extensive knowledge of many cultures throughout the world due to my profession, but haven't focused on the occult/religious aspects very deeply due to time constraints.
