How does he know it is a death curse? What made him assume this?

Just because someone is a witch, doesn't mean they have to throw curses everywhere.

If this is true, casted magick doesn't die with the caster, that's an old wives tale to defend killing witches and to make fantasy books and movies with. Casted magick will continue until it runs out of energy. It is, after all, released spiritual energy. If a body dies, the spirit (which is where the mind/will lies) still exists.

You've already been given sound advice, so my post is just to clarify.

I do feel the story is far fetched tho and you shouldn't believe everything your friend tells you.

maybe I'am missing something here. but i know its true what a person does in his or her life echo in the lives of the one's he or she touch but the theory of how the craft works get annulled.

since one of the variable gets dropped making it a unbalanced equation, thus ending it.

Ooo, a debate. =)
Let's ponder this.

A spell is like a still ball. When we decide to cast it, we take a few steps back, decide what direction to angle ourselves, charge and put all of our energy into getting this ball to move. When we are finished, the ball is rolling because of us, but not necessarily with our help any longer. We release it and walk away.
If I push a ball and you kill me after I push it, does the ball stop rolling?

If the energy of people after they die disappears, why do we still sense them off of what they owned in life? Why would their energy die with their physical body if they are returning to energy?

Here is a great example of curses and death:
The Egyptian Tombs. The Egyptians who wrote those curses are long since dead, but now so are many excavaters and archeologists. The Ancient Egyptians knew more about magick than most of us (if not all of us). They placed spells all over their tombs in hopes to protect their bodies forever. Had they believed that their magick would not last past their deaths, they would never have bothered.

You're thoughts? This is an excellent question. One that doesn't often come up. I don't think many think about.

actually the energy we read after a person has died is just remaining energy that's is decaying. it just takes longer than a ball decay rate. that's also assuming the person in question energy doesn't act on its own accord. (thinking of haunted houses)

After giving this some thought, and posing the some questions to physicist, Google, and talking to the scientist side of me,and the magician in me.

the physicist and the magician says. the laws of physics still apply to metaphysics. metaphysics are just more rules and they still have to obey them. continuing on with the "ball" example, once its thrown, the decay rate starts to take effect.not to mention the energy it takes to transform the the potential energy to kinetic energy to active energy. its just a matter of time before it stops. i couldn't quite tell him what brought this question on for more precise details. now applying that to the Egyptians spells as most people think the are, i personally think there just wards. but anyway the energy is stopping the intruders from doing what not to the bodys. it switches from on when the archeologist, and tomb raiders.and off when its not being threatened. which makes me think its a charged object, which is tempting me to call it sigil on the sarcapgus. the charge just hasn't full used. which leads me to the question how did they charge it so that it last this long. I'am guessing the did something immoral.

Google simple said not enough information

the scientist said, come back when you want to talk logical.

I did say it would eventually run out of energy unless another being/intelligence was employed. It won't last forever, but many spells like that do use a battery source such as a poppet. Many rituals are one time things, only long term spells must be repeated. The energy is built up and released, like a ball is pushed. Once released it needs no assistance of energy from the caster, it has been sent out and in fact, once casted you're not supposed to even dwell on the spell, most say to forget about it. So yes, the ball would stop eventually, but will it stop before the goal is complete? Depends on how much energy was used to push it, no? Basically, it depends on how much energy and effort was put into a ritual. The more energy, the longer it will last. But what I'm saying is, when the person dies, the magick they have done in life isn't gone in a "poof" when they stop breathing. It still proceeds until the energy itself runs out naturally.

I'm a little offended by your insinuation that I'm not using logic. I never once insulted you. I am not stating belief but specifically describing the mechanics of energy in physics. An object doesn't stop its motion if the stimulus that began the momentum is eliminated after the push. It continues forward and accelerates or slows based off of what it encounters (for instance it would accelerate due to new stimuli or a downhill). If someone knows they are cursed, they themselves will feed it, just as the curses of the tombs of egypt were fed by the fearful excavators, theives and residence of the area who knew about it. This would accelerate the "ball". The ball would also accelerate if the subjects own hopes or fears were in alignment with the energy of the spell (like a downhill it will gain strength). If the spell was not known of and was in direct opposition to the hopes or fears of the subject, then it may just slow to a stop if it wasn't given enough energy or the proper direction to fulfill its goal, like a bowling ball that lands in the gutter or stops, only knocks out one pin, or stops in the middle of the lane.

Just something that i just have learned that matters to this once a witch dies (Only in a non natural ways like being shot and such anything violent or that was meant to be done by someone else)their energy is still there meaning she is dead but her energy is still alive

first off the scientist inside of me said i wasnt using any logic. not you, i apologize if that wasnt clear. .

so i was partialy right when i said it might have been self inflicted. (i had to open a new tab to make sure i was on the right subject).

If the witch was powerful the spell may linger but eventually die off.
