Common denominators

Since there's been postings crying that everyone should stop being mean and saying things are impossible, and posts where the impossible is explained, I began to feel left out of the loop. So here's my observation.

Have you noticed that the people who claim "anything" is possible, that fire blasts happen, a friend turned into a mermaid, werewolves ate their sheep, ect. Are all people generally under the age (at least mentally) of 25?

This completely excludes those under 25 who don't fall into this category, you all know who you are.

You don't see people into their late 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's+ claiming these things. In fact, we can all honestly say we've never seen it happen, heard of it happening or even remotely believe it's possible to happen.

Why? Experience that comes with age aka common sense. How in the world 12 year olds can claim to have more worldly experience or more magickal experience than someone who have not only lived 3 times longer than them, but has practiced 3 times longer than them is beyond me.

Clearly, it has to do with age and the psychological/mental development stages, which are clearly outlined in many many courses, books and the like. We can go on our tangents of "But I'm mature for my age and I still saw it". "I've been through more than you". "Just because I'm young doesn't mean...". Yes...Yes it does mean you lack experience. And clearly if you are making such claims, you lack the common sense as well. (see above mentioned comment for all those who do not fit into this because I don't actually want to spend the rest of this time in this thread having to point it out repeatedly)

Those of us who are sitting here denouncing various claims or hopes are not doing it to rain on your parade or make you cry (although for me personally I admit that's a bonus). We're doing it to help you. In stead of getting huffy, crying, pouting, throwing fits and whatever else you can think of, attempt to listen.

I can promise each and every tween here who thinks anything can be done through magick, one of two things will happen. You will walk away from magick all together because it will never meet your ridiculous expectations. Or you will grow up, realize we were all right and want to slap yourself.
Remember, we were all young once. We all had wild dreams (some more wild than others). But the point is, we all grew up and accepted reality.

I agree with this, and I am under the age of 25 by quiet a bit :P. When I started practising I did not expect anything like that, nor have made a stupid claim. In fact I believe because of this people were more open to teach me and now I am teaching people on certain subjects.

I unfortunately have already busted the 30 yr mark, but have come to find out that there are 12, 13, & 14 year olds in this site that have more knowledge and experience than I do in the 20 yrs I have practiced.

Talk about funny... ;)
