Find a stick (although it can really be made out of anything) and shave off the bark then sand it down. The wand can be as long as you like and can be from any type of wood. However different woods are better for different purposes.

ive done all that...but how do i make it work?

What do you mean by "work"? The wand is just for transmitting energy.

place it outside in the fullmoon, run it through some incense or place it on a bed of crystals or place it under your pillow for a week to put your energy in to it
