Awaketoolong mentions Fava beans. Just so that some of our members don't mix them up with other sorts; here in the UK they are called Broad Beans

Further to Fava beans.I grow quite a few vegetables, and always put a sample on my altar, especially at Mabon and Samhain. This is just to ask the Gods to look favourably on my little "harvest". I leave the Fava beans in the pod on the altar.
By the way--I never cut flowers to put in a vase. Flowers belong in the ground; cutting them is needlessly killing plants. I may "pluck" a flower to put on the altar, but never bunches to put in vases!
