I think it is too soon.. one year is not enough to come up with all the answers of the questions they are going to be throwing at you... unless you are quick with your tongue.. besides that.. If I was you will be giving hints of what I practice and let them come up with the conclusion themselves. . ^_^

Trust me i'm VERY quick with my tongue. And i'v learned soooo much stuff in the past year it's unbelievable. And my "anniversary" is just the date i started keeping a spell book and doing spells. Really i'v been doing magic all my life. And i'v been reincarnated many, many, many, more times then most people so answering questions wouldn't be a problem. I'v already written my dad a letter and everything, i thought it would be easier then saying, "Guess what! I'm a witch with magic powers!" to his face.

I would say go with the old Disney quote; "Follow your heart." At least I think that's from Disney, I don't know I've heard it allot.
Anyways what I mean to say is if you don't feel it's time for them to know then maybe you should wait a bit. Once you feel you are ready to tell them then you should tell them, but in the end it's all up to you.

No, the quote was around since before my time and Square Enix didn't become a large gaming company (to my knowledge) until 2003. I am not only 6 years old, I am 18.
Before 2003 there was Square and there was Enix, but they didn't become one and take up that quote until later.

Well my parents found out when I asked them if they knew where the matches were because I wanted to light a candle. When they asked why, I told them that I wanted to try a fire spell... my mother went to buy a big candleholder/jar to put my candle in so nothing else could ignite and gave me a box of matches... my dad made jokes about it but when they came across some books about it on a garagesale they bought them for me... guess I've easy parents when it comes to that. They even let me practise on them sometimes ^^

And now about your case... I think that they'll be more shocked about the fact that it's not just something that will pass by as you are already practising a year, if they had found out in the early stages they could comfort themselves with: 'it will pass' and eventually learn to accept it when it doesn't go away but now you've been practising for a year... so don't know sry

sarahsboot, lol, yea i guess i maybe could have told them when i first got into it, and i'm sure it will shock them that i'v been doing it for a year when i do tell them. At least they wont be able to say TV or books have gone to my head and made me believe in magic. But then i guess they could think i'm completely insane, lol.
