ditto to what tessa says. not to mention i quiestion if anyone is really talking about the same things here. too much theries it's giving us all headaches
Light and Dark are not the same. However you do need a balance of the two to have order. Now stop the arguing its getting ridicules. And some are showing more ignorance then they even realize.
Closing ones eyes does not stop all light, have you every noticed that when you look at the sun with eyes closed you see the red inside your eye lids. matter is not solid so photons can still pass through most of it even if oly a minute percantile make it.
That everything would be black without light is a groundless assumption.

What I meant when I said that is if you are in complete darkness then closing your eyes wouldn't change anything. If you don't have light then you can't see, if there's no light and you shut your eyes then you still can't see. Does that make more sense?
When you are in your room try blocking off the windows at night when only the moon and stars would be giving light outside. Then block off the door so no light can come through there either. Now look around with the light off so that you are in complete darkness. If there is any light in the room it should be easily noticeable; extinguish it or cover it up. Once there is no light whatsoever in the room look around with your eyes open then look around with your eyes shut. If there is any difference in your vision between having your eyes open or closed, please let me know, because there was no difference when I did it.

The color of things would not change. You're right about that.
