Satan is a term used to claim something evil, wrong.
Studying between the lines of the Christian bible, studying the philosophy of Luciferianism and not simply reading off of highly known websites that make the knowledgeable puke would be a good place to start at.
I believe it takes someone of a higher intelligence and interpretation to know and differentiate between reputable and down right terrible. No other sources, whatsoever except the worst you could find?
Don't jump right to the first website on Google, but at least attempt to find someone of adept knowledge on the subject first.. just so you know what to look for.

Traditional religious beliefs can be proved/disproved through research. Cultural appropriation (which is what Satanism is doing when it makes claims that involves taking beliefs outside of their original intentions and cultures) can be proven quite easily, as can cultural misappropriation.
I can give specific instances that I still remember from four years ago in regards to the religious/spiritual/magical beliefs of ancient Egypt, because I refuse to go on JoS again. However this thread gives plenty of example of when a group of people think it's appropriate to cut and paste religions, traditions, and cultures together at random.
