Ok I have been doing candle and element and tea reading for 4 years now and I dont know it all but I have never had to use a wand in my spells and it seems like some harry potter fluff but like i said i dont know it all so could some of you help me out Are wands Fluff or not? I really want to learn
Wands in real magick are used as symbolism to send your energies out into the Universe. Fluff wands are wands where someone does believe that pink clouds of air will spark when the wand is used.Fluff wands are toys based on fantasy movies. So, wands used for real magick may or may not be fluff. Up to you!

As has been mentioned already, wands are real. As with the athame (ritual knife), the wand is used to direct energies during ritual work. In Wicca they are one of the important tools that most of us have, and in some Traditions are requred to have.
My personal wand is made from elder and 500-year-old bog oak. Elder is the tree of the Lady, and in particular of the Crone aspect of the Goddess; while oak represents the Horned God. So my personal wand represents the energies of both of the Deities that I honor.
One doesn't absolutely need to have a wand unless you feel a desire for one. You can simply use your finger in place of a wand if you choose. Nor does a wand need to be fancy. A twig you find on the ground can become a wand if you like. But wands are not fluff, they are actual working tools in various magical systems.
Wands are real, just don't expect them to have phoenix feathers or a real dragons blood in them. As mentioned they're used to direct energy. Wands are primarily made of wood [and different wood carries different magickal qualities] But I have seen wands made from metal and crystal [or a combination of both]
Wands aren't really necessary, I have made two wands and I still only use my Athame. The wand is decorative for me. Unless you find yourself drawn to a wand, don't worry about it, you've been fine without one so far.
