My favorite was in one of Scott Cunningham's books... I don't remember which one it was now but if I can find it, I'll let you know. Here's the recipe:
Crescent Cakes
1 cup finely ground almonds (almond flour)
1 1/4 cups regular flour
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 drops almond extract
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg yolk
Combine almond (almond flour), flour, sugar and extract until thoroughly mixed. With the hands, work in butter and egg yolk until well-blended. Chill the dough. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Pinch off pieces of dough about the size of walnuts and shape into crescents. Place on greased sheets and bake for about 20 minutes. Allow to cool 2 minutes on the cookie sheet and then move to a cooling rack.
I like to put a small amount of slivered almonds on them when they are cooling.
This is my particular favorite but then I love almonds... Yummy!
There are no foods that are typically considered Wiccan. We're far too diverse to say eat this or that. Eat what sounds good to you.
That being said, there are some foods commonly associated with certain Sabbats. For example:
Imbolc - milk and milk products
Beltaine - fresh fruits
Midsummer - fruits and veggies
Lughnassad - grains, bread, beer, etc
Mabon - nuts, autumn fruits and veggies
Samhain - meat
Yule - dried fruits, and all the usual foods like turkey etc
On Yule I make lamb roast, roast beef, Turkey, or deer. Last year I made for my coven a meat loaf wrapped in bacon [and one without bacon for myself] I usually make spiced cider with dried orange slices. [Which usually gets a bunch of vodka poured into it at some point in the middle of the night lol]
For Yule we do a potluck, so each person brings something, whoever hosts [usually me] makes the meat and Yule log cake. Just think of food you would eat at Christmas, or remind you of the winter, and make that.
