Is the site primarily using private messages or the mail system now?

As a new member, I like the forum format and have gained valuable insights from it. However, I?ve noticed that many new posts are a couple of years old, and I'm hesitant to bump them up.

Do you have any suggestions? Is it appropriate for me to revive older topics or articles in hopes of getting more responses from members?
