The primary elements are two in number: 1)Fire 2) Ice, the secondary ones are 3) Water 4) Air, and the further Elemental building blocks are 6) Salt 7) Yeast 8)Venom, and of course the final elemental synthesis Earth. This is explained in Gylfaginning in the Prose Edda.
