Take a cat and look it in the eyes cut a piece of its hair and put it in the jar. Close the jar look at the cat again and say "Good cat, good cat. I set you free. Let me gain your trust, so mote it be" Then take the jar and bury it underground.

Highly unlikely this will work. perhaps try being nice to the cat?
