I got this spell from a book called ''Earth Power'' by Scott Cunningham. It's simple enough to do it. Keep the wish small, don't try anything too big.

Casting Instructions for 'Water Wish Spell'
You will need the following items for this spell:
A Spring
A stone (from the spring)
A token of thanks
Chalk

Take a small stone from a nearby spring. Use the chalk to mark your need in pictures, symbols or runes. Hold the stone in your power hand and walk three times around the spring clockwise. If this is not possible based on the location of the spring, simply just walk three times in a circle before it clockwise. Lift the stone in your power hand, stare right into the heart of the spring and say:
Spring of clear water, ceaseless and true.
Send me a wish that I now ask of you.
Close your eyes and let the stone drop into the spring. Take a sip of the water (this seals the spell). Leave a token of thanks to it's spirit.
If nothing happens for three full moons, repeat the spell.
I have not personally tried this spell, though I think it could have some uses. Though, maybe with a clarification or two.
To me, this spell smacks of the idea of requesting a boon. Considering it is performed at a pond, likely such a request would be directed to one of the elementals/archetypes of water. And then combining it with the tradition of a wishing-well; Nmely, walking around it three times while focusing on your wish then dropping in a coin. In a wishing well the coin is both offering, and means of transporting the wish across the veil (from air to water/physical to spirit).
Considering that you are removing a stone from the spring then replacing it, you would want to consider what you want to use as an offering to leave behind. Bear in mind three things when doing so; The personal value you hold towards the item, the time and effort it represents (what you did to earn or make the item), and the possible environmental impact of leaving it behind. It does no good to leave something behind that could cause harm. At the very least it would be counter-productive in earning favor.
