step outside on the porch/step. look up at the sky and yell '' I REVERSE MY CURSE! LET IT BE NO MORE! I REVERSE THE CURSE I HAVE PUT ON ( cursed persons )!

Well I only saw that movie once, but I do believe you are correct of its origin. That said, you could use that ''chant'' in a reversal and it could work [depending on how powerful the curse was, saying you're undoing it, and cleanse away the energy it could stop the spell]
