During valentines day my partner gifted me a necklace. It contains a golden chain (not real gold) and a round square slate of rose quarts. I dont know where he got it or bought it from but the second i put it around my neck i could feel that something about it was off. Even after cleansing it with incense i feel like im being choked. It dosent weight much but it feels as if i were a dog being walked with a massive chain. I feel anxious when wearing it. Since it was a gift from him i really want to wear it but everything in me tells me not to. The energy it has is sickening and i dont know what to do.
Any help or advice is appreciated!
If there really is some sort of energy attached to it and a simple incense cleansing didn't remove it, then it might require some other method. that said, it's also entirely possible that you just don't feel comfortable with wearing that particular necklace for some reason that has nothing to do with magic or energy.

My friend who is better at energy stuff won't even touch it. She said it looks quite messed up. Now I have new questions, how can something become cursed? Why did it become cursed? How? Who? Why?
There are two main ways that I know of that an object can become cursed. There may be more that I'm not aware of.
First is the accidental curse. These curses are the result of the object being in an environment with extreme negative energy. Depending on the nature of the negativity, it can build up over time or come all at once. As I understand it, these have to be pretty specific situations. Not every negative situation is going to result in a cursed object. The nature of the curse could be the negative energy itself or an entity that's attached itself to the object as a result of it being attracted to that negative energy.
The second type is the deliberate curse. This is when someone sets out to deliberately curse an object. The simplest way this is done is by focusing negative thoughts, feelings, and energy, then attaching them to the object. It's possible that bnegative entities could be encouraged to attach to the object as well.
Without knowing anything about the necklace's history, it might be difficult to determine what sort of curse is attached.
If this situation is still going on do you want me to do a reading on the necklace to see if we can figure out what's going on with it? Also I have two spells I can give you, one removes spell work, the other empties an object of energy and turns it into power/ energy that can be used to cast spells which you can give to the earth, take it for yourself, give to an object such as a talisman to recharge it. Also, as someone else said (Draq) that is how curses can be placed on an object, though its more common in my option that if the necklace is cursed that it was placed there by a witch/Bruja/Brujo/Hexe/etc whatever term your culture uses for a magical practitioner. If a cleansing spell wasn't enough and you know you did the cleansing correctly then the spell could be anchored to something which we'd need to unlink the anchor before we take the spell away. I don't know if the spell is anchored or not just that's what I've experienced before has been the culprit.
Maybe it's some kind of control spell or traditionally called a "Domination working" since you said how it feels. Did your partner buy the item from somewhere where magical practice is more well known? Is he the kind of person to want to control you?
