Law Of Three (Simplified)

The Law Of Three or Threefold Law is a guiding principle in our Craft. It's about intent and energy. Whatever energy or action or intent that we put out into the universe whether positive or negative, it will return to you three times as strong.
This doesn't only apply to Magick, it's a reminder that your thoughts, words and deeds have consequences. Every action has a reaction. When you send out Love, Blessings or Healing Energy, you recieve that abundance multiplied.
Conversely, negative actions or intent or negative energies that you send out towards others can rebound with great intensity.

It's a core reason in Witchcraft or more specifically in our Craft that we practise, to emphasize the use of Ethical Magick. To focus on intent that uplifts, protect and manifest growth, rather than causing harm. It also serves as a tool for reflection, helping us consider the Energy we contribute to this Universe.

Excellent summary.

I myself do not believe in the law however out of a lot of the do good concepts, this law tends to make the most sense.

Also very applicable to modern concepts like the Law of Attraction and self improvement!

I find that the easiest way to understand the "Law of Three" is by understanding that our actions effect us threefold: Physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Take the case of anger as an example.

Science has shown us that a person who is frequently angry is subject to physical effects on the heart, the gastric system, blood pressure, etc.

A person who is frequently angry tends to make people not wish to be around them. So they find themselves lonely and depressed as well.

And frequent anger that causes you to act out aggressivelyor to do harm to others, may well start to distance you from your spiritual center.

Looking at the Law of Three from this viewpoint makes it accurate for many areas of our lives, not just magic.

This is very well described in the book "Ethics for the New Millenium" by the Dalai Lama.
