Personal Barriers?

Sorry for my poor English I'm not a native speaker.
I began to feel that there's some sort of wall surrounding me since i was little. I can still feel and control it now but I don't know what it is. Is it some sort of personal protection? Spiritual stuff? Or just some thing i made up in my mind bc I'm just too fond of being protected by walls and barriers?
