Im curious what everyones practices are. Are you happy with what you chose and plan to stick with it long term, or has your practice changed and evolved over time?
I really want to learn healing, and Im wondering what a good starting point might be. Is Reiki a good place to begin? Or is it not necessarily the be-all and end-all?
I primarily practice Chaos Magick particularly pop culture Magick. I do have experience with many other paths especially Norse.
As for healing well if you are new start from the beginning with basics. Tbh you can skip reiki and just go straight for energetic healing once you learn the basics of Magick. Qigong is also a great place and tradtional medicine.

Hi Dreamweaver. I am a 3rd Degree Gardnerian Wiccansince 2008. Before that I ran a large, teaching coven in the Oak, Ash, and Thorn Tradition of Wicca. I've been practicing for around 45 years now.
You might take a look at various herbal approaches to medicine. I highly recommend the books, " Herbal Medicine " by Dian Dincin Buchman as well as " The Master Book of Herbalism " by Paul Beyerl. But do understand that medical herbalism is more complicated than many realize. You not only need to know your herbs, but you also need to understand the patient's medical history as some herbs might interfere with medications they are taking, there might be allergy concerns, and some herbs might actually make their condition worse. If you truly want to pursue herbal healing as a form of medical practice, you might want to consider attending a traditional Chinese Healing Program such as those that can be found atchinese traditional medicine school
@ToxicAurora. Ive heard a lot about Chaos Magic, but I still dont really understand it. Is it about working with chaos energy, or is it something different from what Im imagining? Now that you mentioned it, I actually feel more drawn to energetic healing than Reiki.
If I could skip Reiki, I probably would and focus more on energetic healing instead. Ive never really felt like Reiki is for me, it just seems to be what everyone brings up when healing is discussed. Ill also do more research into Qigong. Thank you for the suggestion.
@Lark. Youre really experienced! Medical herbalism sounds way too complex for me, it seems like something better suited for someone whos been practicing for a long time. Also, as far as I know, there isnt a traditional Chinese medicine school near me. Do you know any good books on energetic healing?

A book I might suggest is " Hands of Light: A guide to Healing Through the Human Energy Field " by Barbara Ann Brennan. You can find it athttps://www.amazon.com/Hands-of-Light-audiobook/dp/B00J5OAMXW/ref=sr_1_6?crid=39FDAZLX28520&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.LKIFaY1thJS9uvhHzsqo8ISdMYAU_5B7_gruSKOKrawT9utkfdG87Mz6AzAWjg9fCxcYZLs4lGJzBnC_d28zYeflrk2doJM0fZCSExa3SIeBjZAkkBEVZidEISJKL2hj6J4sH3N3-4fncaKngABIgqwCsxZLljkMFfo4MjYZEJrpDD92fllVcsc3T58JxYqEikn6jfZ7edVJV9Dex5CbBRN-BavAzwydPrHXusPsPjsX5fcdn5ckrrYIUIiQOqoXgp0iklt79ekpHmrrOLscMAKFrbg8dFwe4pB8CNi3s_o.TAxH9BvSwgwWkTLM_LONr6I9xI8madCwFo0iUq8eFEo&dib_tag=se&keywords=energy+healing+book&qid=1768312018&sprefix=energy+healing%2Caps%2C1433&sr=8-6
I practice hedge witchcraft. I use both herbal medicine and a form of energy healing which focuses on negative energy or obstructions found in the auric field. I have been a practicing hedge witch since 1996.
My practice consists of a lot of plant knowledge, remote viewing, meditation both visual and mindful, and divination practice.
