I'm curious, is Samael an Archangel or a Demon?

When I prayed to him a few months ago, I noticed Silver orbs every now and then.

With research, I've noticed that he's not really violent but he can protect one from violence.

I think I know where the confusion comes from, granted in saying so my information about Archangel Samael is very small. However, from sources he does seem like an angle of health as will as Death. He most likely helps guide the dead to the spirit world and comforts them after their time on Earth has ended. In many sources he is still seen as an angel of the divine.

Is he a demon? Probably not, but if he is seen as someone with change and death in his title. Than this is where the demon part might have came from. We're not very good with change, we fear the things we cannot understand, so this is where the confusion may have came from. Many angels are known to protect people fromviolence.

In lore samuel is an archangel he is considered the destroyer of sinners, posion of the christian god and not so to be as demon but of good

Samuel in the talmudic texts is known to be a heavenly host and is prominent role in the jewish lore!

I know this post is quite old but I would like to add some stuff for new practioners interested in Samael. He is my Guardian Angel and among the Angels and Demons my closest bond is with him. I have seen the silver orbs too so the OP definitely is speaking with Samael.

As to what he is, he is himself. He is an Archangel, a Demon, a God, a Dragon, he is many things from what I understand from my UPG and he should really just be treated as his own being. He is an adversary yes but not evil.

Now he is violent in the sense that he is an Angel of War, Death, Destruction and many other violent concepts however he is also the Dark Father who helps one grow. He is married to Four Demon Queens and is actually a good husband. He is the venom of God. He destroys yes but he helps one rise from ruin and reclaim their power.
