I'm by no means an expert, but I would recommend against just "dabbling" with spells without some sort of foundation. Depending on what sort of spells you cast and how much energy you put into them, there could be unintended consequences. It's not always as scary as I probably made it sound since magic is all about subtle changes, but it's a good idea to know how spells work before playing around.

One very important thing to remember is that magic will follow the path of least resistance. I always use a money spell as an example. If you cast a money spell without specifying how the money will come to you, it could come from an unintended source such as a family member passing away. Similarly, if you fail to specify the amount, you might just find pennies lying around.
