Fav protection methods

Hi everyone.

I know the importance of protection and have realised that many of my friends protect themselves in different ways or even don't know how to. It might be beneficial for people newer to magick to have a source compiling different methods of protecting themselves.

I'll start. My main method of protection is casting a bubble of energy around myself and telling it to protect me from harm.
The method I use is very similar to that of making an energy/psi ball (here's a link to that https://www.spellsofmagic.com/spells/spiritual_spells/force_spells/18423/page.html)

What I used to do is make an energy ball which I just put my hands parallel to each other and visualised (basically just imagine an image in your head. Don't worry if you can't do it, some people have trouble but you can learn) my energy flowing through my arms into my hands. (I visualise energy as colour-coded light) then formed the energy into a ball between my hands and expanded it around my body.

Now I just visualise energy flowing and forming a bubble around my body kind of like a cocoon and just add more and more energy to it until I'm comfortable with it.
I recommend you draw energy from the universe or Earth as using your own energy might leave you feeling drained. You can draw energy the same way you'll draw it in while grounding with the tree technique (here's a link to an article from Lark about grounding https://www.spellsofmagic.com/coven_ritual.html?ritual=3663&coven=735)

I'd love to see the ways other people protect themselves ^^
After moving the energy into my hands, I then move it between my hands

I wear personal protections. Necklaces with stone pendants that are protective in nature.

I also utilize house wards. I connect protective items within my home to external sources of energy, like a moon phase, time of day etc, and during said times or phases these items charge.

I also anoint the body with protection botanical oil when I have the ingredients to make it.

These are my three main methods, yet in the past I have used a servitor which uses energy of powered electronics within the home such as the television or light sources, to protect the home.

Dear UnholyRose, I never thought about anchoring a protection spell (or any spell) to a time I do. Recently I've started linking spells to the sun and then anchoring it to an object , which I believe makes it a "totem" Note for solar magick : doing workings before midday is really good for building and amplifying Workings from midday to sunset is really good for cleansing away and removal of workings , it’s sort of like a shorted lunar cycle. And then I have it set to "auto charge" from sunrise to noon and then I could also just charge the totem and because it's linked to the spell it would recharge the spell, so this way I have two sources. And I've had a lot of powerful results from this.

That's really cool UnholyRose.
I've never thought of using energy from electronics before, they seem so stigmatised in my mind it's like I assume they're not good for energy just because they're less natural.
Maybe I should play around with using energy from electronics too.

That's really smart thinking of the sunrise and sunset like the moon phases. I've actually been deterred from using moon phases as I'm too impatient to wait for the right phase or keep track of it but I may use the sunrise/set in some of my workings now.
Thank you for your addition ^^

Actually, the servitor utilizing electronic power isn't my original idea.

I heard of it in a live stream and I am unaware of the originator of this idea, but I decided to give it a try. It worked well for me.

I'd love to know the originator of it, it's absolutely genius.

Live streams and podcasts are amazing for learning, they're so fun too.

I'd caution people against giving too much detail on their protections because if witches know how you protect yourself, they can get around them. I use a variety of methods from enchanted cleaning products to simmer pots, sigils and oils. I also enjoy making defensive protections [you attack me, it blows up in your face] and of course, I wear a protection charm and do daily shielding.

Oh yeah, I forgot sometimes people attack others with no reason lol

Thank you for this warning, snapped me back to reality.

Hopefully, anyone who attacks others without reason is able to realise that they need to change. I understand attacking with reason such as if they've wronged you/others or you're protecting people from them.
Have a wonderful day Nekoshema ^^

@Neckshema, that is a very valid point if someone knows how something works they could get around it, but that does not mean that inherently anyone could get around it. But this is a good reminder to "if it doubt on your protections current "battery level" then just charge it up some more / reinforce it.
